| ...so here is my life in nutshell.
I gotted a new job, most of you know that. I work @ Paddock Pools in their New Pool Construction office. So far, I have found that working in an office means: 1. Instead of your legs hurting from standing all the time in retail, your ass hurts. I'm waiting for the muscles to finally atrophy from lack of use. Damned gluteals! 2. You eat nothing but crap for lunch. 3. Nobody needs a whole hour to eat...but I'll take it. 4. It's noisy, but if you don't have a radio, the day drags... 5. ...but not that much, days have never gone so fast in my life. 6. Once again, the weekend is probably the best time of the week. I missed that.

| ...very, very over it. My new boss was extra dick-headish today and the customers extra bitchy-ish.
Do you think if I continue to semi-stalk the lady at Paddock Pools, she will finally get around to setting up an interview with me? An interview that I will ace and get a sweet new job with sweet new pay. And then I will go to work that day/next day and put in my two weeks and revel in the idea that soon they will have only two FES's. One that can only work nights and the other that only works on Sunday and Monday mornings.
Yes, to have a new job would be sweet. And would satisfy my taste for revenge.

| ...Most Romantic Movies:
5. "Oklahoma" the staged version starring Hugh Jackman. 4. "Star Wars; The Empire Strikes Back" 3. "Sabrina" starring Harrison Ford. 2. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" 1. "The Last Unicorn."
Why, you ask?
5. "Oklahoma" was the first musical I had ever seen on t.v. that I can remember. And while Shirley Jones and Gordan McCrae will always be my fave Curly and Laurie, the Channel 8 version of Oklahoma starring Hugh Jackman just did it for me. He was a perfect Curly, and the way he and the actress playing Laurie chose to develop their relationship was absolutely fantastic. And when they finally kissed, let's just say I have never wanted to wear pantaloons and a long skirt so bad in my entire life.
4. Okay, not a super romantic movie, right? But this is where Leia and Hans start the sexually-charged banter we love the couple for. She is trying to fight it, and he seems slightly confused but totally into her. Not to mention that their relationship made one of the greatest movie cliffhangers that much greater.
3. I know it is blasphemous to prefer the newer version of "Sabrina" to the old one with Audrey Hepburn, but I *love* this movie. Harrison Ford is ten times sexier than Humphrey Bogart (sorry Bogie!) and I found Julia Ormond to absolutely charming. I prefer her career in Paris too (fashion internship compared to cooking school). Now, Audrey sparkles in plenty of other movies I adore (Hello "Roman Holiday!"), but I like the chemistry between the leads in the newer version better.
2. I was watching "Sunshine" last night and I just love this movie. It romantic in the coolest way and Jim Carrey is so awesome in it. I think he pulled off a wonderfully subtle character. It was cool to see someone else playing the kook. And I just liked the idea that despite the both of them erasing each other completely from their memories, they still wound up together at the end.
1. I love "The Last Unicorn" because it is romantic in every sense, not in just the relationship between man and woman. It is epic and sweeping, poetic and gothic, tragic and funny, scary and light. It takes you from every high and low your emotions can take you. The speech Prince Lir gives in the Red Bull's Cavern about the duty and role of a hero is among my favorite speeches in all literature. The book is awesome and the movie follows it almost perfectly, which is very rare. I can't wait for the LA version to come out so I can drool over this story some more.
That's it for that. Reminder, my house on the 10th. 4 p.m. Come early, come late, just be there! No excuses!
I am done. Go about your business. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |
